In early 2013, Grace United began with 40 people and a vision for a Christ-formed community of grace in the Northampton area. Six months later, Dr. Steve Behlke accepted the role of lead pastor. Soon after, elders were chosen, life groups were formed, and the church began to see God's vision take form. Today, more than 160 strong, we help each other to live out our trust in Jesus Christ and in God's transforming grace. We welcome you to share in the genuine freedom and joy among us.

Join us Sundays at 10:00 AM in the cafeteria at Smith Vocational School in Northampton. No need to dress up, but you are welcome to. We have a great band that leads us in worship. Our pastor preaches messages to help you to walk with God. We offer fun and safe classes for your children. After about 90 minutes, it’s over and you can enjoy snacks and coffee with others, or meet with the elders for prayer.

Steve Behlke is the pastor of Grace United. He and Polly married 30 years ago and have three grown children. A pastor for over 20 years, Steve has a Masters of Divinity from Western Conservative Baptist Seminary, and an earned Doctorate in Christian Spiritual Formation. He has every confidence in God’s Word and great ways to present deep truths in a fun and accessible way. In his off-hours, Steve enjoys riding his Triumph Speed-Triple through the winding backroads of New England.

Grace United's elders, along with our pastor, are the primary leaders of our church. These are godly men, along with their wives, who care deeply about the truth, and for each of you.

Jay Ehle

Jay loves to support the community at Grace United. He’s a member of Under Grace, which oversees our FIT classes and Life Groups where people get to know God and each other on a deeper level. His free time is spent with his wife Tiffany and their four daughters. He also loves reading, mountain biking, walks with Tiffany, and taking his girls on hikes and to the park.

John Clark

John is a shepherd at heart, and he uses this gift as an elder and in other ministries at Grace United. He enjoys simple things and sharing everyday moments with his wife Luanne and his family, including church family. He loves to cook and eat good food, and he cooks a meal at each elders’ meeting for them to share. He especially loves the wind in his face and the feeling of freedom when he’s on two wheels.

Mike Laprade

Mike has a servant’s heart, and you can see it when he sets up on Sunday mornings, teaches in the children’s ministry, and helps the families of the church. He enjoys spending time with his wife Cheryl and their children and grand-children. He loves his cowboy boots and sappy movies on the Hallmark Channel.

Tom Rosazza

Tom has a passion for worship and intimacy with Christ. Tom's gifts and love for music are a big part of the worship ministy at Grace United. Most Sundays you can find him on the guitar or the keyboard serving with the worship team, where his wife Wendy also serves. In his free time, he enjoys playing music and spending time with his grandkids.

We believe in the Holy Trinity: God the Father, the Son Jesus Christ, and the Holy Spirit.

We believe Jesus Christ came from heaven and through man’s rejection died as the sacrifice for our sin.

Three days later, Jesus rose from the dead then ascended to the Father in glory and is seated at His right hand.

We believe that eternal life, the forgiveness of sins, and good standing with God is received by God’s grace alone through faith alone in Jesus Christ alone.

No additives. No fine print.

We believe the Bible exists by God’s design and says precisely what He intended it to say.

We believe the Church belongs to Jesus and we exist for God’s glory to make disciples of Jesus Christ.

Christian Life

We believe the Christian life is a life of faith and love and obedience. It is concerned more with the heart than behavior, trusting before doing.

Spiritual growth is nurtured in community and reaches out to others with expressions of God’s love.

The Christian life is devotional, communal, missional.

We believe Jesus’ return will be pre-millennial, glorious, and globally-shocking.

Jesus will reign as King.

He will reward His saints. He will judge all who rejected Him and establish the New Heaven and the New Earth.
